Kursbeschreibung

Zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts wird die Welt einen bedeutenden Prozess der strategischen und geopolitischen Neudefinition unterzogen. einige Großmächte haben umfassende Lehren ausrichten eine Vielzahl von wirtschaftlichen, politischen und sozialen Politik mit ihrer strategischen Ziele im 21. Struktur

Chancellor's International Scholarship (2017) - 20+ Awards

25 scholarships are available in the majority of Sussex Schools, and are awarded on the basis of academic performance and potential. The scholarships are offered for one year.

After 3 July: Notification to successful short-listed candidates if first choice candidates do not take up the scholarship.

Successful applicants
Students accepting a Chancellor's International Scholarship may be required to undertake occasional promotional or support duties for the University of Sussex at times agreed between the student and the University.

Eligibility

Have applied for and accepted a place to start a Postgraduate taught degree at the University of Sussex (e.g., MA, MSc, LLM, MRes, Postgraduate Diploma, and Graduate Diploma) excluding certain degrees listed on our website.

Be assessed as liable to pay fees at the "overseas" (namely the non-EU) rate.

Have sufficient funds to meet your tuition fees and living expenses, after taking account of the possible award of a Chancellor's International Scholarship.

Students who hold other University of Sussex scholarships will not be eligible for the Chancellors International Scholarship.

Intend to remain on the programme for which the scholarship is offered.

To apply for this scholarship you must first have submitted your application to study through the University of Sussex online postgraduate application system.

When you have applied for your course, apply for the scholarship using the application form.

ESRC 1+3 and +3 Scholarships (2017) - No. of awards TBC

The University of Sussex Doctoral School is delighted to offer a number of ESRC-funded studentships.

Part-time students are welcome to apply and in such cases scholarships are paid pro-rata.

Value of Scholarship(s)

Scholarships cover university tuition fees and a stipend (currently £14,296)

Eligibility

UK upper second class honours degree or equivalent. The scholarships will be awarded for a period of either three years for those with an ESRC recognised research training qualification or equivalent (+3) or four years (1+3) for those without. Scholarships include payment of UK/EU fees and in the case of UK students a maintenance grant (for information the 2016-17 rate is £14,296 per annum). EU students will normally only be eligible for a fees-only award. EU students may be eligible for the maintenance grant (at the UK rate) where they have been living in the UK for three years prior to the start of the course.

Application Procedure

If you wish to apply for an ESRC studentship you must first apply for a place on a PhD course at the University of Sussex. Once you have secured a place you will need to complete an ESRC studentship application form. Sussex holds an annual briefing session on how to apply for an ESRC studentship. The briefing will take place at the PhD Open Evening on 16th November.

HESPAL Scholarship (2017) - 2 Awards

The HESPAL Scholarship is a joint award offered by the British Council and the University of Sussex which is centred on building capacity in Palestinian universities by providing young Palestinian academics with an English Masters course in a subject that will benefit their home institution and hence the Palestinian Territories.

The University of Sussex and the British Council are committed to providing two scholarships per year. The scholarships covers:
-Tuition Fees
-Pre-departure briefing from the British Council
-Arrival allowances
-Thesis allowances
-A monthly allowance to cover living expenses
-Travel costs to and from the UK

NB: Scholarships do not cover the cost for any accompanying family.

Where awards are made in relation to a fee waiver no fee award will exceed the total fee payable.

Holders of the HESPAL Scholarship are unable to hold another scholarship from the University of Sussex.

Eligibility

Be a resident citizen of Palestinian Territories.

Be currently employed by the Palestinian university which nominates her/him.

Have a Bachelors or Masters degree from a Palestinian university with a minimum grade of very good (and equivalent to at least a 2.1 Bachelor's Degree from UK).

Be below the age of 35 on application.

Sign a written undertaking to return to Palestine within a time frame agreed, normally one year.

Have IELTS certification appropriate for course and university (normally at least 6.5, sometimes higher).

USA Friends Scholarships (2017) - No. of awards TBC

Thanks to the generosity of our North American alumni and the Friends of the University of Sussex, a scholarship of an amount equivalent to $10,000 is available to nationals or permanent residents of the USA who will be studying a one year taught Master's degree course at the University of Sussex.

The scholarships will be awarded on academic merit.

You will not be eligible for this scholarship if you meet any of the following exclusions:
-Have applied for a course at the Institute of Development Studies except the MA Gender and Development and MSc Climate Change, Development and Policy
-Have applied to study MSc Social Research Methods
-Have applied to study a DPhil (1+3) course
-Have applied to study a Foundation Year, Postgraduate Certificate, International Year One Diploma in Business and Management or Pre-Masters
-Have applied to study Pre-Masters courses and diplomas taught at partner colleges
-Have applied to study the Masters in Business Administration or Masters in Education
-Have applied for a course within the Brighton and Sussex Medical School
-Have applied for LLM in Corruption, Law and Governance (delivered in Qatar)
